Important information about summer CE

In what have been challenging times during national lockdown over the last twelve months, we are genuinely impressed by the professional commitment our CE schools and teachers have shown in delivering near full-time teaching online.

As was the case last year, we know that providing CE examinations this summer will afford much needed continuity and focus. 13+ CE represents an important milestone for pupils, marking the end of Prep School education, giving pupils the chance to show what they can do in a range of subjects, and offering an external mark of achievement of which to feel proud.

In recognition of the challenges associated with preparing pupils for this summer’s examinations, the date for registering candidates was extended to Sunday 28th March 2021, and we promised further guidance to assist and support teachers and pupils in their final examination preparations.

To this end, we have created subject-specific advice and guidance, which we will be releasing on our website from next Wednesday 17th March 2021 here. This guidance is intended to help focus preparations for the CE examinations in the short period of time remaining, whilst also relieving some of the pressure on teachers and their pupils, which we hope you will find useful.

Once the CE examinations have been completed in the summer term and your thoughts turn to the new specifications for first teaching from autumn 2021, we are pleased to announce that we will be running a series of free CPD twilight sessions to explore the rationale behind the new specifications. Dates for these webinars will be released shortly, and we hope to welcome as many of you to these as possible.

At ISEB, we welcome feedback about our support for schools, teachers and pupils, so please do not hesitate to contact us at enquiries@iseb.co.uk with your views.
