The ISEB board is delighted to announce that Richard Harman has been appointed as Chair, starting the position from 1 September 2026. Richard is currently Chief Executive of AGBIS (Association of Governing Bodies of Independent Schools), a post he has held for ten years. Previously, he was Head of Uppingham School for ten years and before that Head of Aldenham School. Overall, he has spent 32 years in teaching and during that time served as both Chair of the Boarding Schools' Association (BSA) and Chair of HMC (The Heads' Conference). He is excited by this new challenge and looks forward to bringing a wealth of sector experience to the next stage of his career.
